DEEP TISSUE
The muscles are warmed up with swedish strokes and followed with intense pressure to muscles that have chronic tension, knots and or adhesions. This is not for a first time massage. Neuromuscular Therapy is the use of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain, this technique manipulates soft tissue such as muscles, connective tissue, fascia.The pain may be result of but not limited to an condition, injury, trauma, surgery, scaring, TMJD, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Pseudo Sciatica, Carpal tunnel, body mechanics or work related postures.
The manipulation of soft tissue creates balance of the central nervous system therefore decreasing pain, correcting postural distortions, decreasing dysfunction, improving balance and equilibrium, decreasing pain and disfunction. The stabilization of healthy levels of neurological activity maintains homeostasis, improving overall health.

* Maintenance massageModalities used are myofascial release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation,AIS, compression, friction, stretching, heat or cryotherapy ,vibration and tapotement. This type of massage helps maintain the athletes body reducing chance of injury and loss of mobility. When an athlete does have an injury, sports massage aides in and excellerates the healing process and decreases down time.
If an athlete is under the care of a Chiropractor it is beneficial to have a sports massage prior to your adjustment, and at the request of your chiropractor. Benefits of sports massage are the following but not limited to, helping maintain an athletes body, reduces chance of injury, the increase of blood flow and oxygen and assisting in cellular recovery which is essential for muscle repair and growth. Aides in restoration of normal tissue condition and the removal of waste products such as lactic acid build up. The stretch of muscle fibers and fascia helps to break down scar tissue, further relieving muscular pain and increasing muscular function.
Pre event massage results in the athlete having the muscles stretched, reducing risk of injury and the client will feel stimulated with a feeling of warmth allowing for optimal performance and anxiety may be relieved, resulting in better physical and mental condition of the athlete increasing there performance and definitely extending the career of the serious athlete.
